To me what is the Game of the Week: Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers, who wins?
and what score do you predict.
I think the Atlanta Falcons win this game by the score of 23-14.
I think the Falcons defense with hold the offense of the 49ers and have decent success on offense. I think they get the job done running the football opening it up for Matt Ryan. I just think they’re simply the more talented team and will win.
Who do you think wins and what’s the score?

17-16 Falcons
Niner’s inefficiency to score TD’s in the red zone will hurt them in this game I think
But Turner will be shut down, first off he is overrated and second off the 49ers are a great Rushing D
49ers for me
great game, niners win tho
Hard to guess a score.
But I don’t think Falcons win this in San Francisco.
San Francisco and one of the top Defenses in the league, and no player has run over 100yds on the Niners this year. And already face Steven Jackson and the best running back in the league Adrian Peterson, and you are saying that the Atlanta Falcons will run the ball good against the Niners at home? Your on crack! Niners win this with Defense!!!!
I think the loss of Frank Gore will hurt the 49ers in this game; but I also don’t believe Matt Ryan will have a good day versus a very up and coming 49ers defense at home. Patrick Willis is making a tough case to pick anyone else as the best defensive player in the NFL. I think this a grind-out, back and forth football game here. Glen Coffee is a big key factor for the 49ers if they can win this game; in the end I think the Falcons will do just enough to scrape out a win.
17-13 Falcons
San Francisco 49ers
I don’t know if it’s so cut and dried that Atlanta’s the more talented team. On offense I would give the nod to Atlanta although they haven’t played well this year (23rd overall ranking) but they at least have a solid quarterback and a play maker in the backfield (Ryan and Turner respectively). Atlanta’s running game has taken a big step back (25th in the league) this season and their defense has been porous (381 yards allowed per game).
On the other side the 49ers are ranked slightly below the Falcons on offense (28th overall) but are averaging 25 points per game in a nod to defense that has scored 4 TD’s in 4 games. San Francisco brings the number two scoring defense in the league and an emerging QB/TE combination in Shaun Hill and Vernon Davis.
I’ll go out on a limb here and give the 49ers the rare benefit of the doubt. I think their defense will be stingy enough to keep the game close and give the offense a chance to muster just enough production to eek out a win.
Prediction: Falcons-17 49ers-24
I don’t know man, I’m giving this one to the niners, 24-10 or 24-17.
They’re about evenly matched, both obviously running teams. However, the 49ers run defense is better than the Falcons run defense, and the 49ers pass defense isn’t bad either.
Main reason I’m taking the 49ers right now is they’re at home, and let’s not forget that Shaun Hill is undefeated at the Stick.
In all honesty, the 49ers should be 4-0 right now if not for some last minute heroics (or luck) by Brett Favre. With the way the niners played the Vikings down to the wire like that, it’s hard to pick against them.
The Niners easily have the better defense, and the playcalling is finally starting to loosen up a bit. Niners 28-10
niners 21-14
I’m with you. Falcons win.
Low scoring affair, 20-13 Atlanta
i’m a niners’ fan…but i think atlanta will have their number this weekend. atlanta has been great on both sides of the ball and they have the much needed talent both in the running game as well as the passing game to score big. the niners’ right now, rely too much on the running scheme to move the chains and hitting vernon davis on the route won’t work every time. they do have a very solid defense though they can prosper more with a better pass-rush defense to keep matt ryan on his toes. on the other end, guys like john abraham and kroy biermann will make the niners’ offense work their tails off this weekend. i expect it to be a close game but i think the niners will come up short though…they are playing at home aren’t they? hmm…decisions decisions.
